Legacy of Music
A wonderful legacy of music was handed down from generation to generation from Grandpa (who had such a desire to learn music, he would study after dark by the light of a fire made from pine knots) reaching all the way to his children, grandchildren and great-grand-children who continue in ministry through music.
This book is a tribute to all those who paved the way for the musical Ward family from Grandpa James L. Ward to his sons T. N. Ward and
Henry Ward and down the line to grandchildren, James N. Ward, Bill W. Ward, Barbara Ward Galloway and Betty Ward Cain and is continuing on with all the great-grandchildren in the Ward clan.
“Daddy was a minister and music teacher for over 50 years. Some of his songs have been sung around the world. One of his most popular songs was, “Joy The World Cannot Give.” It is still sung in many countries today. My grandfather, father and uncle inspired many of the family to pursue music. This book has Southern Gospel songs written by T. N. Ward and W. H. Ward. Two other songs are written by my Grandfather, James L. Ward. They are written in shaped notes for easy sight reading.
These Southern Gospel songs have inspirational messages that will bless you. The tunes will continue to sing from your heart and stay
with you for a while. What a legacy of music we were given. We hope you will enjoy our family’s songs and sing them to your children.”
"Bro TN Ward...was the first one to trust me to give me a solo...how excited and yet nervous I was...but I knew he had confidence in me and that was all that mattered...one man who
looked past this shy little girl and gave her that first break."
